SA3 Power Named Safety Contractor of the Month, August 2026

SA3 Power has been named Safety Contractor of the Month for August 2026 on a major data centre project in the Frankfurt region of Germany.

  • Award: Safety Contractor of the Month
  • Period: August 2026
  • Project: Large multi-trade data centre project, Frankfurt region, Germany
  • Collected by: Paul Haigh (EHS Manager) and David (Dee) Henry (Construction Manager)
  • Announced: 14 September 2026

Safety on a multi-trade site

The project is large and complex, with multiple trades working alongside each other in the same areas. In that environment, strong safety standards, clear communication and close coordination between contractors are essential to keep people safe and the programme on track.

Collecting the award

The award was collected by Paul Haigh, EHS Manager, and David (Dee) Henry, Construction Manager, on behalf of the SA3 Power site team.

The recognition adds to SA3 Power’s growing list of client awards. Read more about its approach on the HSEQ page.

How Safety Contractor of the Month awards work

On large construction projects, main contractors regularly assess the trade partners working on site. Monthly safety awards recognise the contractor whose teams have shown the strongest safety performance over the period. Assessments typically consider site behaviours, the quality of risk assessments and method statements, housekeeping, safety observations, incident and near-miss reporting, and how well teams engage with site safety initiatives.

Because every contractor on site is measured against the same standards, the award is a strong independent indicator of how a team performs in practice.

Coordinating safety on a multi-trade data centre site

Data centre construction brings together electrical, mechanical, civil, fire protection and commissioning teams, often working in the same rooms at the same time. Electrical work in particular involves cable pulling, containment installation at height, heavy equipment such as switchgear and busbar, and energisation of live systems. Managing that safely depends on:

  • clear permits to work and isolation procedures;
  • daily coordination between trades sharing the same areas;
  • well-planned access, lifting and working-at-height arrangements;
  • visible supervision and a culture where anyone can stop unsafe work; and
  • consistent reporting of observations and near misses so lessons are shared quickly.

Part of a strong safety record

The August award follows a run of client recognition for SA3 Power teams in 2026, including individual Employee of the Month awards and top rankings in Safety and Quality Trade Partner Leagues. SA3 Power teams have worked more than 500,000 hours without a lost-time injury.
