SA3 Power Signs Safety Pledge 2025 at November Data Centre Safety Visit

SA3 Power took part in the November Safety Visit on a live data centre project in November 2025, joining main contractor Mercury Engineering and the wider supply chain to review site standards and share observations.

  • Event: November Safety Visit
  • Date: November 2025
  • Main contractor: Mercury Engineering
  • Project: Live data centre project
  • Outcome: Safety Pledge 2025 signed by the SLT group

As part of the visit, the project’s senior leadership team (SLT) group signed the Safety Pledge 2025, a joint commitment to safe delivery and continuous improvement across the site.

What happens on a site safety visit

A safety visit brings the main contractor, trade partners and site leadership together to walk the project and see how work is being carried out in practice. During the November visit the group:

  • reviewed standards across the working areas;
  • shared observations and good practice between teams;
  • agreed actions to keep standards high as the project progresses; and
  • signed the Safety Pledge 2025.

Preparing for winter working

The timing of the visit was significant. Shorter daylight hours, colder weather and wet conditions change how a site needs to be managed, from access routes and lighting to housekeeping and welfare. Reviewing standards together ensures every trade works to the same expectations through the winter months.

For SA3 Power, that includes the temporary site lighting and power that keep work areas safe and well lit throughout the year.

A shared commitment

SA3 Power teams have worked more than 500,000 hours without a lost-time injury. Taking part in initiatives such as the Safety Pledge alongside clients is part of how that record is maintained. Read more about the company’s approach on the HSEQ page or see the awards its teams have earned.

What is a safety pledge?

A safety pledge is a written commitment signed by the leadership of the companies working on a project. It sets out shared expectations, such as stopping unsafe work, reporting hazards and near misses, and looking out for one another, and makes leaders visibly accountable for safety on site.

Why leadership involvement matters

Site safety culture is strongly influenced by what leaders do and say. When senior managers from the main contractor and every trade partner walk the site together and sign the same commitment, it sends a clear message to operatives that safety is a shared priority rather than one company’s responsibility.

Winter working on construction sites

  • Lighting: temporary lighting must keep stairs, access routes and work areas well lit during shorter days.
  • Weather: wet and icy conditions increase slip and trip risks on access routes.
  • Welfare: warm, dry welfare facilities help teams work safely in colder months.
  • Housekeeping: clear walkways and cable management reduce trip hazards.
