World Quality Week 2025: How SA3 Power Thinks Differently About Quality

SA3 Power marked World Quality Week 2025, held from 10 to 14 November, by putting the spotlight on the people, systems and culture behind the quality of its electrical work across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

  • Event: World Quality Week 2025
  • Dates: 10–14 November 2025
  • Theme: “Quality: Think Differently”
  • Focus: Alignment, performance and people
  • Applies to: Data centre electrical installations and temporary site power

This year’s theme, “Quality: Think Differently”, challenged organisations worldwide to look beyond compliance and find new ways to build resilience and raise standards. For SA3 Power, which delivers data centre electrical installations and temporary site power on major construction projects, the theme reflects how quality is managed day to day on site.

What is World Quality Week?

World Quality Week is an annual international campaign that recognises the role of quality in organisations and the professionals who make it happen. Each year it sets a theme to encourage businesses to review how they plan, check and improve their work.

Three areas of focus

SA3 Power’s approach to quality centres on three areas:

  • Alignment: building quality into decisions from tender through to handover.
  • Performance: identifying risks early and driving continuous improvement on every site.
  • People: giving every team member ownership of quality in their own role.

How quality is managed on site

Quality at SA3 Power is built into the way work is carried out rather than checked at the end. The company’s quality management system covers its policies, standard operating procedures, flow charts and forms, and every project follows a Quality Plan with step-by-step checklists.

A Regional Quality Control Manager monitors these systems across projects, and regular training keeps quality front of mind for everyone from directors to electricians. More detail is available on the health, safety, environment and quality page.

Why it matters on data centre projects

On data centre and critical infrastructure projects, reliability and precision are essential. LV and ELV installations, containment and test results have to be right first time, because the facilities are designed to run without interruption. A strong quality culture gives clients confidence and is a key reason many return to SA3 Power project after project.

Quality versus compliance

Compliance means meeting the minimum requirements set by standards, specifications and regulations. A quality culture goes further: it looks for ways to prevent defects before they happen, reduce rework, and learn from every project so the next one is delivered better. The 2025 theme encouraged organisations to make that shift.

What “right first time” means for electrical work

In electrical contracting, quality failures are expensive and disruptive. A poorly terminated cable, incorrect labelling or an incomplete test record can delay energisation, hold up commissioning and affect the wider programme. Getting installation, inspection and documentation right first time protects the client’s schedule and the long-term reliability of the facility.

  • Inspection and test plans set out what is checked, when and by whom.
  • Step-by-step checklists make sure nothing is missed at each stage of installation.
  • Complete records give clients the evidence they need at handover.
  • Lessons learned from each project feed back into procedures.
